Local Boat Sales Scheme
Unfortunately we can't offer our full brokerage service to boats that are not here at Preston Marina, but we would like to offer a simple scheme to help local owners sell their boats which are not lying at Preston Marina, using some of our well established brokerage resources.
The aim is to provide some of the facilities that many boat buyers are looking for to aid their confidence in the process of buying a boat, while sharing the workload with the vendor and keeping costs down.
Here is an overview of how the scheme works;
· The Vendor supplies us with up to 15 digital photos of the boat (or we will come to the boat and take them for an agreed fee)
· The Vendor completes an application form which provides us with details of the boat.
· We prepare a description of the boat with photos.
· The description is placed on our own very well established website in the brokerage section.
· The description will also be placed on other boat sales websites we use for excellent coverage.
· The description will also be available on our brokerage display at Preston Marina, available 7 days per week.
· The description will incorporate the Vendors' contact details.
· All questions regarding the boat and viewing arrangements are to be handled directly by the Vendor.
· All negotiations will be conducted directly between the vendor and the buyer.
· As qualified yacht brokers we are happy to offer advice as to any of the administrative, and limited legal aspects of the sale.
· Our specific brokerage holding/client bank account may be used for deposits and payments for the boat
· We are happy to prepare a Bill Of Sale upon a completed sale.
Boat Acceptance Criteria
This scheme is only available to boats that are not berthed at Preston Marina.
Acceptance is subject to application and entirely at the discretion of Preston Marine Services Ltd (PMS). Upon acceptance, PMS will sign the vendors' application and an agreement will be in effect.
The vendor will indemnify PMS against any and all claims arising from the description, listing and sale of the boat.
Fees and Sales Commission.
Upon acceptance for the scheme, the boat's vendor is required to pay a £50 + VAT administration fee, after the payment of which the boat description will be prepared (using photos supplied by the vendor). The description will then be listed within our boat sales advertising efforts.
Upon a sale, the administration fee is refunded in its entirety, and a commission is charged based on the vendors' original asking price for the boat as follows;
A commission of 1.5% + VAT of the vendor's asking price will be charged.
All the above are subject to a minimum sales commission of £100 + VAT.
Period of agreement
This service is available to boats for up to 12 months from the acceptance of application.
If a boat under this scheme remains unsold after 12 months, the listing will be removed and the agreement will be considered to have expired.
Terms and conditions apply to this scheme, please contact us for details.
