The Folkboat was designed in the late 1930’s and is still as popular and much loved as when it was first built; their long keel and modest beam make for good sea keeping and comfortable sailing, below they vary from extremely cramped to compact.  The Folksong is a derivative of the Folkboat with more beam and less draft and elegant styling by Eric Bergqvist and was built from the late 1970's.

Kingfisher has not been used for some time due to ill health & is now in need of some work hence the reason for the nature of the asking price.

Examples of the work needed include - externally there are repairs to do to the rudder, the hull requiring the gunwales repairing and re-sealing, the light blue gelcoat burnishing and waxing to a gloss, and re-finishing under the waterline. Internally there is scope for the headlining to be renewed, the interior woodwork to be repaired in a few places and refinished.

The yacht does have full bunk cushions which wre enot available to be photographed as they are in dry storage elsewhere - but are believed to be in good condition.

Kingfisher is currently looking sorry for herself at the moment – but there is far more good about her than bad and this would make a superb Winter project.

We are advertising this on behalf of the owner's family who has sadly passed on.
