Its very
hard to put a value on boats of this nature where there are
not really any direct comparisons on the market, so we
encourage any interested party to come and view the boat and
the owner is very happy to discuss the price.
Condition Survey - August 2009.
Built originally as a motor yacht, the rig was added in the 1980's by
her second owner, who also re-engined her with the current engine.
"Marshira"
should still be regarded as a motor yacht, but when time, weather,
inclination and crew allow the sails add an extra dimension to cruising.
"Marshira" could be described as being on the better side of a re-fit -
by this we mean she is considered to be fundamentally sound (as the 2009
condition survey suggests), benefiting from much recent refurbishment
work, getting her to a standard which can be used and enjoyed as opposed
to a piece of furniture too good to go in the water. A new owner could,
we believe, quite quickly get her into commission and ready for sea,
although there is scope for further modernisation and refurbishment.
Her layout is as follows;
Wheelhouse / Deck Saloon
Entering into the deck saloon from the portside sliding door we find the
helm position. Along with the helm controls, steering compass and engine
instrumentation there is a basic GPS and VHF Radio.
To starboard a refrigerator is encased into the wheelhouse panelling.
Looking aft from this point, to the starboard side is a modest dining
area with seating and table for 2. Opposite this to port is a long
settee/single berth.
The deck saloon benefits from recent upholstery pieces.
The engine compartment is accessed through a lifting floor panel
Aft Cabin
A small flight of steps from the deck saloon leads into the aft cabin.
Here 2 single quarter berths are found, port and starboard. These are
original to the boat. The present owner has built into this cabin a fold
down double berth, which stows when not in use - and effectively means
this one cabin can sleep 4.
Galley
Forward of the helm position (to the portside), down a small flight of
steps is the galley comprising sink, larder stowage and 2 burner cooker
with oven.
Heads
To starboard, facing the galley is the separate heads compartment
incorporating sea toilet and wash hand basin.
Forecabin
Features a single berth which pulls out to make a 3/4 berth. Wardrobe
space and built in seat. This cabin has not had any refurbishment.
